Carlos Santana is music’s great collaborator, blending his singular guitar style and expansive musical vision with a stunning variety of artists to create something new, unique, and universal. Santana’s vision for Sentient was to revisit recent collaborations through a new lens, weaving them together into a sonic pilgrimage that passes through jazz, hip-hop, soul, rock, and Latin rhythms. He not only curated the songs to suit his vision, but revisited many of them, enhancing aspects of the tracks to create a cohesive listening experience. The songs on Sentient range from recent hits and superstar collaborations to rare, unreleased, and overlooked tracks that Carlos wanted to re-introduce in a new context. The result is a spiritual journey through music’s endless possibilities guided by Santana’s uncompromising muse.

On March 28th, Carlos Santana will release a new album titled Sentient, which will include reworked versions of previous songs as well as three previously unreleased recordings. As a first taste, we can get to know the new version of Please Don't Take Your Love with Smokey Robinson.

Santana has worked with artists such as Michael Jackson, Miles Davis, Paolo Rustichelli and Darryl "DMC" McDaniels over the years, and these collaborations are now included in a new version on the new album, about which the guitar virtuoso said: "I'm always driven by passion, emotions and instincts. As I listened to these songs in order, I immediately felt that it would be worth collecting them. I've never thought in terms of genres. It doesn't matter if we're talking about compositions by Stravinsky or James Brown. The point is music that connects people with each other."
